The carnival was lots of fun! Apologies to the fish pond people. Slink got in there and tries to tangle up all the lines. He thought it was a game for him. I had to bring him back up to the room and leave him there. He wasn't impressed.
I ate cotton candy and that was great. I haven't had cotton candy in a long time. We used to steal it get it in Central Park once and a while. And I ate three hot dogs and played a lot of games.

Well we got a pretty good mark on our egg project, even if I broke Sammy. But just that once!
Oh, Griffith, thanks for the present, you didn't have to do that! You were a great partner too.
I've been spending a lot of time outside this week because it's just so nice out and Slink likes to run around. He's already killed a bird, which was sad, and also gross, but that's what cats do, so I can't really get mad at him for it. He prides himself on being a good hunter.
He brought the bird to my feet, of course. Because he (like a lot of cats) thinks I'm a really bad hunter and wants to make sure I don't die. Even though I've explained the whole kitchen and cafeteria idea to him. But its a habit from when we lived on the streets. Plus he likes to bring presents. What better present than a dead animal?

Oh no!!!!!
Sammy broke!!! Griffith, I'm SO sorry!!!!
He was in his basket, on the desk, right in the middle of the desk. I swear I was just in the bathroom for two minutes but when I came out, I found that Slink had knocked him, basket and all onto the floor! And was trying to lick him up!
I'm sorry! I'll tell Miss Foster that it was my fault and get a new egg baby!!

Griffith is my partner for the project.
We decided to name our egg Sammy, since that's a pretty unisex name. Although in our senario, our baby is a boy, so maybe the egg's a boy.
I keep wanting to type 'eggo' and that's made me hungry.
I'm making a little basket for him out of the bottom of a milk carton. I'll put a strap on it so it can be carried around.

The birds have started to come back from their winter resting places. It's so nice to hear them in the morning. Even hearing the crows is not so bad, as loud as they can be! I prefer the songbirds, of course, but the crows seem to come first. And the pigeons, although I don't think a lot of them ever left!
Slink has spent a lot of time at the window with sharp eyes on the birds outside.
And the squirrels are emerging from their winter homes. I love to hear them chittering away out there. Squirrels are always so energetic. Fighting over nuts, scampering around and playing, they really are fun animals.

Telly almost got out of his cage yesterday. I went over to his cage to give him supper and he was balanced on top of his wheel and had his tiny paws fiddling with the top door of the cage. He knows it's there because I always open it to feed him and take him out and stuff. Smart mouse.
Slink would have loved that, because then it would have been extra supper for him.
Speaking of Slink, he got in a fight with a dog yesterday. And won. The way he likes to tell it, the dog was begging for mercy. He did come home with a slash through his eat though, but he seems mostly proud of that.

There's only like, 32 days left until Spring. Until Spring officially starts anyway. There will still be snow around, but it's a nice thought. I like it when the birds and all the other animals that migrate come back.
Telly really likes peanut butter. I knew that mice didn't like cheese the way everyone thinks they do, but peanut butter, that's a new one on me. It's cute.

I decided to keep the mouse. Miss Foster gave me an old glass cage to keep him in.
His name is Telly. Short for Nutella. That was Bruce's idea.
Slink really wants to eat him. He keeps watching through the glass.

Slink caught a mouse today and brought it into the room. The only difference from normal is that it was still alive. Slink dropped it and it ran under the bed. Slink ran under the bed. The mouse ran out.
I caught it and have it in the bathtub right now (with the plug in) and Slink in the bedroom.
I feel bad sending the mouse outside into the cold. That's why he came in, because it's warm in the school That and there's always crumbs to eat.
Right now he's scurrying around in circles. I gave him some little pieces of fruit and some grains.

I should be studying. I have been studying, at least for most of the evening. But like half an hour ago my eyes just kept drifting anywhere but my math text book and I realized I'd drawn daisies all over the page. With numbers in the middle of them all.
So I decided to take a break for the rest of the evening cause obviously I'm too distracted to study. I'm paining my nails a blueish purple colour. Well I'm not painting right this second cause I'm typing, but they're drawing.
I had Fruit Loops for breakfast this morning. I hadn't had those in ages. They were great.

I've never read Shakespeare before, but I stared reading Romeo & Juliet today and it seems pretty cool. It's not as hard to read as I thought it would be.

It has been very quiet these past few days. Not totally quiet, because people are still here, but much quieter than normal. Especially in the mornings. I guess a lot of people sleep in.
And a lot of people brought their pets home. Slink says he likes that there are less animals around. Particularly of the canine variety. He wishes there were more mice and birds, but, well, winter.

Christmas will be interesting this year. I think. I haven't done Christmas in a few years now I'm looking forward to the food. So is Slink. I'll be staying here for the break.
I met the lady with he pink hair and her cat. Who is very cute in an oversized way. The cat, I mean. The lady's not oversized. Slink didn't like the cat though because he doesn't like any cats bigger than he is.
I wonder if the library can get the latest Georgia Nicholson book? The others are all there, but the latest one's in hardcover, I guess. I'd like to read it. Those books are funny.

I miss my friends
The book I picked out for English is pretty good. It's The Lovely Bones and Mr. Wright said it was a good choice. It's not what I expected at all. I thought it would be sad and grim and it is a little bit, but not really. I really like it a lot, I'll probably finish it pretty soon. Because I don't have much else to do but read and do homework.
I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving Dinner. I haven't had a real one in years Will there be pumpkin pie? I love pumpkin pie.

Slink says that there is a new cat here and he is not a fan. Slink wants this to be his territory, and the other cats who live here are younger than him or smaller than him, or not male, so its alright. But not this new cat.
I still need to pick out a book for English class. The Georgia Nicholson books aren't high enough reading level Anyone have any good ideas? Nothing too depressing or heavy or sad, I've had enough of that lately.

I still have a headache
Slink really liked the tuna melts that were on the supper menu last night. He says they should be on the menu every night.
I liked them too. But the food here is always very good. Especially what I'm used to
I'm trying to do my math homework right now, but its tricky. Because my head hurts
